WhatsApp Tricks – How to disable Read Receipts
Those blue ticks can get you in trouble, but in WhatsApp you can disable Read Receipts simply!
You can turn them off, but note that, you won’t get read receipts for your messages either.
iOS: Settings > Account > Privacy > Toggle off Read Receipts.
Android: Settings > Account > Privacy > Untick Read Receipts.
How to type bold, italic or strikethrough in WhatsApp
Sometime you need to emphasis on a subject so what you can do is to type that important words in bold,italic or strikethrough.
iOS and Android: Type an asterisk either side of the word or phrase for making it bold : *bold* .
Type an underscore either side of the word or phrase for making it italic : _italic_ .
Type a tildes to either side of the word or phase for making it strikethrough : ~strikethrough~ .
How to Mark chats as unread

There is a way to mark important chats with dot to remind you to go back to it though.
