Facebook messenger is very popular and is widely used nowadays. But there are a number of Facebook chat tricks which you probably don’t know about them. To get the most out of this super cool app, make sure to always keep it up to date. Now follow me through this post to find out some wonderful Facebook chat tricks.
Play instant games with your friends
One the coolest Facebook chat tricks is the game feature. You can challenge your friends in a bunch of really interesting games. For example, did you know that you can play chess with your friends on Facebook messenger? Just type @fbchess in the chat. You can select pieces using K for the king, Q for the queen, N for the knight, R for rook or P for the pawn. Once you’ve selected your piece, add the letter and number representing the space you want to move it to. For example, Kd3 to move your King to D3.
If you don’t feel like playing games with a friend, you can play solo by going to facebook.com/games/instantgames. In the apps, open a chat with yourself and hit the gaming icon.
Turn Facebook messenger into Snapchat
Messenger Day feature allows you to share updates about your day with all of your friends or with specific ones. You can use selfie filters for your photos and they disappear after 24 hours. Hit the photo icon at the bottom of your home screen (Android) or the (+) “Add to your Day” option (iOS) and start recording. Your photos, along with those of your friends, will be displayed at the top of the Messenger app.
Send surprise birthday balloons
One of the interesting Facebook chat tricks is the added emoji trick. Simply open the chat conversation with your friend and send them a balloon emoji. When they open the message the balloons will be set free. You can also use Hearts or snowflakes emojis to make it rain hearts or snowflakes for your friends.
Send money through Facebook messenger
Did you know that you can use Facebook messenger to transfer money to your friends? Well, the good thing about it is that it’s free but the disadvantage is that only debit cards are supported for now. It’s also easy and all you need to do is to enter the settings menu and add a card to your account to get started. In the app, tap the “…” option and select Payments. Select who will receive the money, fill out the amount, and add you payment information. On the web, select the dollar sign icon on the menu and follow the same steps.
Share Spotify music
Last year, Facebook and Spotify integrated in order to allow users to share musical content via the messenger.
To share songs over Facebook Messenger to a friend tap the three dots icon below the message to bring up the More menu. Scroll down and select Spotify from here, which will then launch on your phone. Search for a song, select it, then press Send.
